Well where can I start to tell you about their amazing day! They got married at a beautiful wedding venue called Deer Park Hotel, Honiton on 30th May. The weather was surprisingly beautiful and sunny, which only added to the wonderful atmosphere with their guests.
Leanne emailed me February 2014 to book me to photograph their wedding. I knew of Leanne as she went to school with my sister however I never realised just how well we would get along. After booking me they asking if they could have their pre wedding photo shoot in March 2014 so they had photos to use for their save the dates. We did the photo shoot at Fingle Bridge and I’ve never chatted so much on any other photo shoot. Leanne from the word go became a very good friend.
Throughout the last year we’ve met up and discussed wedding plans either over yummy food or visiting their venue, it’s been a true pleasure to get to know them both better and see the dreams they had for their wedding come to life.
The day started with Leanne, her bridesmaids and Mum all getting ready at the Deer Park in the bridal suite. They all had brilliant matching pyjamas with their role at the wedding on the back. Matching pyjamas are always a great idea if you’re having photos getting ready because they always look great in the photos.
I left the girls part way through the morning to go and photograph the ceremony and reception rooms before they filled up with guests. I also went and found Glennon and his boys to photograph them full on nerves and trying to do button holes! (The button holes were made using cartridges-Loved that idea!)
Time soon went on and before I knew it Leanne was ready, all the guests were seated and a excited Glennon was stood at the end of the aisle waiting.
Leanne wore a beautiful white lace dress with a vial and her bridesmaids wore long sage green dresses all with different straps.
After the ceremony we took photos out on the large lawn they have at The Deer Park and then I went off around the estate to take some of just the bride and groom, it’s always nice to take them away from their guests for 20 minuets so they can relax more and have a catch up between themselves, meaning I get great natural photos.
At 3pm they sat down for speeches and then their meal. In the reception room Leanne and Glennon had gone for a country theme with fantastic drawings by the grooms mum of different country animals as the table names and then wood with flowers on for the centre pieces.
In the evening they had a brilliant band that accompanied the dancing, that made for a great evenings entertainment. At 10pm they also had fireworks, despite the fact it was now raining it didn’t stop all the guests coming out and admiring the great display.
All in all it was a brilliant day.
