Emily & Aaron

Welcome to the blog of Devon Wedding photographers On the 4th July 2016 Emily and Aaron got married at one of the most beautiful churches for weddings in Devon. Their ceremony was held at Crediton Church, Crediton is absolutely wonderful inside and out. The light that fills the alter is great for photos, as well as the decorative detail in the windows and on the walls. Emily and Aaron booked me back at the beginning of 2014 and at the time I couldn’t believe that I had a booking for 2016 and certainly didn’t realise/dream how many others were going

Fee & Alex

Welcome to the blog of Devon Wedding photographers Fee and Alex got married on 11th June and had one of the most appealing church ceremony locations I have ever seen. Tetcott Church is situated on an estate in Tetcott and surrounded by beautiful fields, buildings and animals. They then had their reception held just down the road at Tetcott Hall. They had a surprise horse and cart awaiting them when they came out of the service arranged by Alex’s Dad. Despite the rain we still managed to get all the group photos done in a little dry spell just before

Group Photos

Group photos at a wedding are something I personally feel can be the most taxing part of a wedding day. Not only for the photographer but everyone there. However they really don’t need to be and I now can confidently say I have a system that I feel works superbly. I’m not going to sit here and say since my first wedding I’ve known how to handle 150 guests and that I’ve always known how to smoothly do all the group photos but once you’ve photographed over a 100 weddings you start to get an idea of what works suitably. I have been

Jess & Roy

Jess and Roy got married on 4th June at the tranquil Beaconside House, Bideford, Devon. It was a wonderful day with the ceremony starting at 12, which meant for a relaxed afternoon. I know Roy’s family well and also photographed his sisters wedding too, so was great to see all of them too! Best Wishes Emily We definitely enjoyed the venues swimming pool, to relax by in the afternoon! (Of course we were working hard too!)

Bank holiday weekend fun!

So I’m a week behind writing this blog due to the fact bank holiday weekend was a tad busy with two weddings as well as photographing Bridestowe and Sourton beating the bounds – photos for that can be found here. The weddings over the bank holiday weekend couldn’t have been better, with Friday’s proving Plymouth Yacht Club to be the perfect venue for a sunny costal devon wedding and Saturdays at Waterbridge golf course showing how the green hills of Devon make a beautiful setting. Karl and Gemma got married in Plymouth registry office on Friday 27th May and then made their way

Mr & Mrs Steer

On Saturday Amy and I headed to Widecombe-in-the-moor to photograph the wedding of Jessica Bowden and Russell Steer. Amy started off at The House of Marbles to have breakfast with the the groomsmen and then spent the morning photographing them getting prepared for the day. I went to Jess’ family home and photographed all the goings on there. Jess and her 3 bridesmaids looked absolutely amazing. The bridesmaids wore navy blue dresses with lace detail and Jess wore a white lace dress that was fitted in at the waist and finished with a embellished belt in dusty lilac. She also borrowed her

Amy update!

As most of you who will know last year I took on Amy as an apprentice, just thought you may like to see/hear how she’s doing! Amy has come on fantastically and is a true credit to herself for the hard work she puts in. Seeing the improvement in her photography is something I look forward to after every wedding. She not only has progressed with her photography in more ways I could have ever wished but also is absolutely exceptional in her approach with our customers and their needs. She is currently at the stage where you make the

Pendennis Castle 22nd April 2016

On friday we had a wedding at Pendennis Castle, it was the wedding of Samantha and Robert a wonderful couple from London who chose to get married in the West Country. They all got ready in the Falmouth Hotel, which is about a 2 minute drive from Pendennis Castle. Pendennis Castle provided the perfect backdrop for a truly english wedding. Luckily the weather held off so we were able to get some wonderful images with the grand landscape that surrounded us. After the ceremony and photos we went just across from the Castle Keep to where the reception was being held, inside

Employing someone at 19

Employing someone at 19 was the biggest decision I have made, however has defiantly been the best. Amy started with me last August just after my 19th birthday. It was a step I knew I could afford as Amy is on an apprenticeship wage but wasn’t sure how I was capable of managing an individual so they would achieve their potential. Google has always helped with my business questions, but being a ‘boss’ was something I knew it couldn’t answer. Even though Amy has been with me 9 months now and it still baffles me everyday on how to be the
